Hot-glued me a dress

I was incredibly bored last night and hot-glued together a dress for a cosplay:

Progress within the first hour or so of making this dress above. (It was about midnight when I started)

Current progress started this morning. Added the two side pieces and fitted it a little better.
I need to make a trip to Joanns next week to get material to make the collar and add the brown and gold to it.

Materials used so far:
Hi-temp hot glue gun + 3 sticks of hi-temp hot glue
2-3 yards of Vinyl fabric (Turned inside out for a not-as-shiny look)
1 foot of brown zipper

I'm redoing a lot of my sketch on deviantart and deleting a few so my feed on here is going to go from now to tiny to huge to regular again in a few weeks. Just trying to keep in touch for a change. I'm changing "sketch of the day" to week, so I have time to keep on top of that amongst other things. I think i draw maybe three a week to I'll post the best once a week.

And again I will put out a reminder that I am taking commissions and all of the money goes to sponsoring my little sister and her school's Scottish dance team. If I can sponsor her with commission money I will be posting videos of Jenna and her team performing.

COSPLAY

I finally finished my cosplay dress for the character Marquise Mindfang from the comic homestuck. I'm very proud of this dress because I made it from this horribly tacky gold and black dress and I was able to recycle it into something better. Later if I can find it, I'll post a picture of what the dress looked like before I edited it.

To add on to my new-found obsession, I'm making a Vriska cosplay costume to wear to Metrocon in June.
So far I have the shirt, the horns (Courtesy of Danielle Rohter, who made them for me) and her robotic arm which is actually just a glove made to look like it's robotic. (It was also a pain in the butt to make) All that's missing is red converse, her glasses(Of which I made but lost T.T ) and a long black wig. (Will probably be posting more of the cosplay as I finish it since most of it will be handmade)

Okay so my friends have managed to get me into this comic called Homestuck. So I made a fan art pic of these two characters Vriska and Tavros. So the story goes: Vriska has a bit of a crush on Tavros, but like the psychopath she is she always winds up hurting him and eventually killing him. This picture was inspired by that even though apologizing is definetly something the character would never do.

Sketch of the day 9: (Natalia)

I kind of forgot about the blog for a couple days.. So here's a sketch I did last night of an rp character I created.

Easy Mediums

Everyone uses some sort a of medium to create their art. Here are a couple I find easiest to use:

1. Graphite pencils. They're almost always at your disposal and are great for black and white sketchs.

2. Sharpies. These I normally use for big projects like posters. They're great for adding color to just about anything. (Especially fun to sharpie your jeans)
3. Gel pens. For when I'm inking a sketch or free-drawing, gel pens are good for detailing.
4. Photoshop. It's great for adding minor details or completely changing the entire picture.

Okay so it's not a sketch, but videos can count as art two. I was organizing the files in my computer and came across it. This is a random comedy-type video I made in the fourth grade.
